When deciding those first shoes for your baby, you will want to think it through. After all, these are a first in a series of firsts, first steps, first jumps, etc. The shoes that they are taken in are very important. There are a few factors that are necessary for picking out just the right shoes for your baby. First, and foremost, there is the aspect of safety. A child is a creature of instinct. Instinct tells us that if something hurts, do not do it. If that first step leads to a fall, then getting the child to take the second step will be difficult at best. With this in mind, we realize that we have to have shoes that have good traction and that are not too loose, but at the same time are not overly tight. This brings us to our next issue, that of comfort. A child will not want to wear a shoe if it is not comfortable. Beyond a good overall fit, you will also need to make sure that the interior of the shoe is soft, perhaps something with cotton filling. Lastly, do not rush things. Your child is going to be doing a mixture of walking and crawling for a good while, so make sure that the baby shoes you choose will be comfortable in both situations. You will want something flexible as well as sturdy. There are many firsts in the life of a baby, so make sure that
they all are moments to remember.
